Scuba Discovery sessions involve:
This is a fun event and involves poolside tuition on safety, diving techniques and equipment. In a very short time, you’ll learn basic scuba skills and take your first breaths underwater.
Learn how to:
Use SCUBA gear
Use hand signals to communicate
Perform basic SCUBA skills
Taster sessions are open to anyone of all ages who is reasonably fit.* Under 17s need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, but you can stay dry if you wish!
Participants need to sign a disclaimer form and be a reasonable swimmer.
You will be provided with all the SCUBA equipment, mask and fins.
All you need to bring is your swimming costume and a towel, we also suggest you wear a t-shirt to wear in the pool, though this isn't essential. You can if you wish wear a wetsuit. By the end of the session you should have learnt enough to know how to take your diving adventure to the next step.
Scuba Taster events are at either Bangor Pool or Anglesey. We can accommodate private and group sessions, with some notice. Contact us to make an enquiry.
To avoid disappointment, download and review the Diver Medical form to ensure you won’t need a physician’s approval to dive before enrolling in a scuba course or scuba activity.

*Sub aqua diving is a sport that requires general physical fitness and good health. Anyone with a medical history of diabetes, blackouts (epilepsy, etc.), perforated eardrums, high blood pressure or heart disease, any lung or respiratory disorder (such as Asthma), or dependence on drugs, may not be able to dive safely and so MUST seek specialist advice before contemplating taking up this sport including a Try Dive.
